Balance

I have been thinking alot about balance lately.  Balance plays a part in every part of our life and we are in constant motion trying to achieve balance even while at rest.

You have to have good foot work and balance in order to be successful at many sports.  If you have bad balance, you are often out of position or have bad technique.

At work, we balance time, projects, and customers.  I am constantly are trying to find balance between working with a customer trying to achieve what they want and what the insurance company will allow.   I have been doing this for 15 years and I am still trying to find balance in what I do and not falling short of expectations.  I admit that to this day that I make mistakes and I am not infallible.

At home, I am constantly trying to find a balance of bringing work home and spending time with my family.  I often fall short in spending enough time working on my relationship with my wife and kids.  I need to get in better shape so I am there for my family down the road.  I need to spend more time with my God.

Everything I said above may seem random, but these are thoughts I have on a regular basis.  I am sure you have similar thoughts and are also looking for balance.  I leave you with some quotes about balance.

"We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential." Ellen Goodman, wisdom found in New Years Achievements

"We have overstretched our personal boundaries and forgotten that true happiness comes from living an authentic life fueled with a sense of purpose and balance." Dr. Kathleen Hall, A Life in Balance

"Life's demands may not slow up any time soon, and learning life balance is an ongoing art. If you think one day you will get it all done, and then you can relax, you are bound to be disappointed." Christina Winsey-Rudd
